Well, cheese friends - it is a busy news week in the aboutcheese world, here is a quick update:

  • Royal Winter Fair Winners - There are three big cheese compeitions in Canada and two of them are in November. Next week look for the results from the British Empire Cheese Competition being held in Belleville later this week.

  • Cheese and wine pairing Thursday, December 3 - Cheese is great and wine is great, but sometimes when they are paired, the result is more than the sum of the parts. If you would like to learn how to make great pairings or just hang out with like-minded cheese and wine people, join us.

  • New Cheese School in Toronto - There is a new cheese school in town and George Brown College is hosting it. Look here for more details on the this local cheese education option.

  • Recipe - Apple, Prosciutto and Parmigiano salad - Chef Brian Semenuk is at it again. Prepare this delicious and easy salad with our new Quercia Green Label prosciutto. Be sure to let Brian know what you think and rate the recipe.

  • Visit a Parmigiano Reggiano producer - tag along with lead sales manager Allison as she visits a Parmigiano Reggiano producer in Italy.

  • Good times and hot cheese in Montreal - Wholesale specialist Steve heads off to Montreal and discovers great food and a passion for cheese curds and poutine. If you have an opinion about curds or poutine, we want to hear it!

  • Last call for November Collection - Hey, November is still here for a week and a half and it is not too late to get in on the November feature action. It is a collection of husky, Billy Holiday (if Billy was a cheese) type cheeses that will warm you up from the inside. The collection includes Feuille d'Automne, Valdeon, Cape Vessy, Chevrochon and Hercule de Charlavoix. No Gloomy Sunday for you with these cheeses!

  • November cheese of the Month - Toscano, Learn about the building progress of the new plant, meet Ruth Klahsen on video and celebrate and support the renaissance of Monforte Dairy by purchasing this rich, beautiful and earthy cheese or by subscribing to the renaissance Monforte CSA that is backstopping the plant construction.
